The Foreign Ministry says China's new law regarding foreign non-governmental organisations is a just requirement of law-based governance. The regulations are also important measures to ensure the foreign NGO's legal interests.

"I want to stress that things are different in different countries. Each country has their own means of management and services for foreign NGOs. China's legislation must conform to the actual situation in China, so that the law will be truly effective,"
