A high-tech team in Israel says it's developed a new type of gauze that can stop bleeding in minutes.
Researchers say when the gauze touches blood it changes its molecular structure into a gel which adheres to the wound and puts pressure on the wound. They say the gauze can absorb 25 times its own weight.
The team says the gauze is made from regenerated cellulose which has no side effects. The product is still in the development phase, and other types for different wounds are expected in the future.
