The Pakistani military has released a video of fighting troops and weapons it claims were seized from the Taliban in the province of South Waziristan. This comes on the sixth day of the army's offensive in the remote region along the border with Afghanistan.

The video also shows the village of Gurgura Sar, which appears to have been partially destroyed during the battle. A military statement released on Thursday says that two more troops were slain in the fighting. This brings the army's casualty total to 18 -- while 24 more Taliban militants were also killed, raising their death toll to 129.

Earlier, suspected insurgents shot and killed a soldier and a senior army officer in the capital city, Islamabad. One soldier was injured. No group immediately claimed responsibility.
