South Korea has proposed talks with the DPRK to prevent a repeat of the deadly flood on the two countries' border.

The move comes a month after the North side released a massive amount of water from a dam into the Imjin River. The incident killed six people in the South. Seoul has proposed the two sides meet on Wednesday at a DPRK border city.

Chun Hae-Sung, Spokesman ROK Unification Ministry, said, " To prevent this kind of incident on the Imjin River happening again, I have suggested South-North talks to prevent casualties and systemize the joint use of the river we share. At this working-level meeting, we have also suggested discussing humanitarian issues including the dispersed family reunion."
