Canada's province of Nova Scotia unveiled a historic strategy to boost its trade with China. It's the first Canadian province to have made such strategy with China.

The strategy focuses on the province's competitive strengths in sectors such as seafood, energy, tourism, ocean and information technology, as well as education. It also outlines plans to support Nova Scotia businesses that already have access to the Chinese market.

"Nova Scotia takes note that this is an Atlantic province. This report auto plays a leading role in the Atlantic provinces, and also plays a leading role in all provinces in Canada," said Luo Zhaohui, Chinese Ambassador to Canada.

"I chuckled when I was in China last year September when I talked the slow down China’s economy that was in 7 percent growth. That’s positive. I think we can still work together in extra trade with America and trade with European, but we also want to build a strong trading relationship with China," said Stephen Mcneil, Premier of Nova Scotia.
