Scores of people have been killed and 50 others wounded by a suicide bomber who detonated explosives among a crowd of mourners at a hospital in Quetta, in southwest Pakistan. The Xinhua news agency quotes Pakistani television news as saying that the death toll has risen to 93.
The crowd were mostly lawyers and journalists who had gathered to accompany the body of a prominent lawyer, who was killed earlier in the day. No group has claimed responsibility so far, but several lawyers have been targeted during a recent spate of killings in Quetta. This was the second deadliest attack in Pakistan this year.
